4 New Places to Explore in Naperville This Summer
Walk Washington Street on a Friday night right now and something feels different. New awnings. New windows lit up past dark. New faces standing outside places that didn’t exist six months ago. And it’s not just downtown — head out to Riverbrook Shopping Center on Aurora Road and you’ll find the same energy in a brand-new storefront that wasn’t there a month ago. Naperville has always had a good rotation of shops and restaurants, but this year the pace of new openings has been noticeably quick — and as two people who cover this ground constantly, both for work and for our own weekends out, we wanted to put together a real list of what’s actually new.
This isn’t a sponsored roundup. It’s the same list we’d text a friend who just moved here and asked, “okay, what’s actually worth checking out around here right now?”
The Belmont — American Steakhouse
The Belmont opened in June 2026 at 35 S. Washington Street, right in the heart of downtown, and it’s already becoming a go-to for special-occasion dinners. The menu leans into prime and wagyu cuts, seafood, and heritage pork, all built around a scratch kitchen — the kind of steakhouse that feels like it’s been there for years, not weeks.
If you’re planning a night out or a client dinner, it’s worth a reservation. Follow along at @belmontsteak on Instagram for hours and specials.
FP Movement — Activewear + Community
FP Movement, Free People’s activewear concept, opened April 24, 2026 at 215 S. Main Street. It’s built around yoga, hiking, running, and everyday movement — part retail, part community hub, with the kind of bright, plant-filled studio space that makes you want to linger even if you didn’t come in to shop.
It’s a natural fit for a downtown that’s already dense with runners on the Riverwalk and a strong Naperville Park District fitness scene. More at @fpmovement.
TESO Life — Asian Lifestyle Store
TESO Life opened July 11, 2026 at 1555 N. Aurora Road, Suite 113, in the Riverbrook Shopping Center. It’s an Asian lifestyle store carrying beauty products, snacks, collectibles, and home goods — the kind of browse-for-an-hour shop that’s been missing from that corridor. It’s a little outside the core downtown footprint, which is worth noting if you’re used to everything new clustering around Washington and Main.

Vuori — Performance + Lifestyle
Vuori opened June 5, 2026 at 110 W. Jefferson Avenue, joining the growing cluster of performance and lifestyle apparel brands downtown. Women’s and men’s performance wear, built for both workouts and everyday errands — another sign that downtown Naperville’s retail mix is leaning harder into active, outdoor lifestyle brands this year.

What a Wave of New Openings Actually Means for Naperville Real Estate
Here’s where this stops being just a list of places to try and starts being relevant to your home.
New retail and restaurant openings don’t happen randomly. Brands like Vuori, Free People, and TESO Life do real site-selection work before signing a lease — they’re reading foot traffic, income levels, and daily population density before committing to a market. When four different concepts across dining, fitness, and retail all choose to open in Naperville within the same few months — three downtown, one in the Riverbrook corridor along Aurora Road — it’s a signal about the strength of the local economy across more than one part of town, not just a coincidence of timing.
For homeowners, that matters because a stronger, more active retail base — downtown and along corridors like Aurora Road — supports the same demand that keeps home values steady — the same fundamentals we talk about whenever Naperville shows up on a national “best places to live” list. Buyers relocating from other states are increasingly asking about walkability to downtown and proximity to retail, not just school boundaries, when they search with us.
If you’re weighing a move closer to downtown to be near all of this, our private home search is a good place to start, and the affordability calculator can help ground your budget before you fall for something on Washington Street. For a closer look at which downtown-adjacent streets tend to hold value best, we broke that down in Inside Naperville’s Most Coveted Luxury Neighborhoods.
